Course Overview: Chanakya is known as the most intelligent and brilliant person in human history. He helped Chandragupta Maurya to establish a huge empire literally form ZERO. Chanakya developed skill sets to win the struggle in any circumstances. Prime Minister of India has put a dream of Vikasit Bharat 2047. India is the youngest country in the world and 70% of the population is below 40 years of age. India will lead the world for next 50 to 60 years. We need to develop the leadership and political skills in the youth of the country. Politics is everywhere and one has to face it in every field of life. Youth of India is required to learn leadership and political skills and enter into the mainstream politics and administration. In this course, Leadership Skills will get developed as Administrative Leadership, Corporate Leadership, Social Leadership, Industrial Leadership, Women Leadership, Youth Leadership, Cultural Leadership, Spiritual Leadership and Political Leadership, etc. This Course is a MUST for everyone who wishes to become a leader or wishes to develope leaders for the Viksit Bharat 2024 as Leadership Coach/Experts. Students will learn the foundation and Philosophy of Indian Idea of Leadership. They will acquire the expertise knowledge from Chanakya Kautilya Literature and his Life. They will study the ancient texts like Manusmriti, Shukraniti, Vidurniti, Shantiparva etc. They will understand the various models of leadership and process of acquring the skills and qualities of Leadership.

Diploma Syllabus

Paper 1 – Introduction to Indian Knowledge System

Learner should have basic idea and understanding of the concept of Indian knowledge system. IKS has multiple dimentions and inter connectivity. The applications at IKS are in day to day life. IKS has been evolved and developed through the voyage of centuries. Ancient Rishies, Munis and scholars have carried this vast base of knowledge systematically though oral traditions and people tradition. Learners should have overview of IKS.


Paper 2 -  Foundation of Ancient Indian Leadership

In this subject, students will delve into the essence of leadership as conceptualized in ancient India. They will explore the fundamental ideas of kingship and governance, understanding the Vedic models that shaped historical leadership paradigms. By studying texts like Manusmriti, Shantiparva, and Vidurniti, students will gain insights into the principles and practices that guided ancient leaders. This foundation will help students appreciate the timeless values of leadership aimed at the welfare of all, encapsulated in the concept of "Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah" (May all be happy).

 

Paper 3 - Kautilya Chanakya and Leadership

This subject offers an in-depth exploration of Kautilya Chanakya’s unparalleled contributions to leadership and governance. Students will be introduced to Chanakya’s historical and philosophical context, understanding his pivotal role in the establishment of the Mauryan Empire. Through an analysis of the Arthashastra, learners will study the Saptang Model of Leadership and the Mandala Theory. The course will also cover Chanakya’s timeless leadership lessons, and the four categories of governance—Trayi, Varta, Danda, Niti, and Anvikshiki. Students will emerge with a robust understanding of strategic and ethical leadership inspired by Chanakya’s wisdom.

 

Paper 4 - Leadership Skills and Qualities

In this subject, students will explore the multifaceted skills and qualities essential for effective leadership. They will learn about the importance of developing an enlightened personality, encompassing physical and human values and morale. The curriculum will delve into the intellectual, ethical, and spiritual qualities that define true leaders. Students will also examine how to lead in times of crisis, prosperity, and peace. Through the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita, they will gain profound insights into leadership principles that are both timeless and universally applicable. This subject aims to mold well-rounded, resilient, and morally grounded leaders.

Paper 5 - Models and Methods of Leadership

This subject provides a comprehensive overview of various leadership models and methods. Students will explore different types and methods of leadership, tailored to diverse contexts such as corporate, industrial, and business environments. The curriculum also covers political, administrative, and social leadership, along with the unique challenges and opportunities in women, youth, and spiritual leadership. The course emphasizes the concept of collective leadership aimed at universal wellbeing. By understanding these diverse leadership models, students will be equipped to apply effective strategies and foster inclusive, holistic leadership in various fields.

 

Paper 6 - Developing Political and Social Leadership

In this subject, students will focus on cultivating leadership skills tailored to political and social contexts. They will examine the role of Indian youth in politics and the transition from Nrup-Tantra (kingship) to Lok-Tantra (democracy). The course highlights politics as a powerful tool for social service and emphasizes the importance of sustainable political leadership. Additionally, students will explore strategies and visions for leading India towards "Vikasit Bharat 2047." This subject aims to inspire and prepare students to actively engage in political and social leadership for the betterment of society and the nation.

 

Paper 7 - Global Leadership Development for Viksit Bharat

This subject is designed to equip students with a global perspective on leadership development. They will explore Western, Asian, and African philosophies of leadership, gaining insights from diverse cultural contexts. The course will address the global challenges faced by world leaders and the role of technology and AI as pivotal tools in modern leadership. Emphasizing the vision of "Vishwaguru Bharat," students will learn how to position India as a global spiritual leader. This subject aims to develop leaders who can navigate international complexities while fostering a vision of a prosperous and influential India on the world stage.

 

Paper 8 - Study of Dharma

Dharma is a very broad concept but it has been presented and percolated in a very complex and confused manner in a society at a large. Unfortunately Dharma is considered as equivalent to religion. It is very necessary and important to understand the baisc idea of dharma. Every student and learner need to be familiar of the foundations, functions and features of Dharma. Dharma is the way of living life, Dharma principles are guidelines for individual and society and balancing between individual, society and universe. Applications of Dharma are the basic rules of management of the relations between human and universe. Study of the Dharma will enlighten students that the real meaning of dharma and how it is different from religion.

ASSESSMENT & EVALUATION 

  • 100 marks for the subject 

  • Written Exam – 60 Marks, Assignment – 20 Marks,  Oral – 20 Marks 

  • Project – 1 Project - Thesis & Presentation (Year End)

  • Passing – Min. 40% marks in each subject 

  • (Note: The written Exam will be offline at various CSU centers around the India)
