The reason is the foundation laid down by ancient education system and ancient Indian knowledge system. IKS has covered all aspects of the life. In Moderen times, the western knowledge system have endangered the very existence of human being on the earth. IKS has the real time solutions for the challenges faced by the world today. Every teacher, faculty, professional and even every citizen should have fundamental knowledge of IKS including 14 vidya and 64 Kala. Diploma in Iks education will enable students with the fundamental knowledge and overall idea of IKS. It will develope the Knowledge of Ancient Indian literature, Indian Philosophy, Ancient India history, Epics like Ramayana, Mahabharata, Shakuntal, etc. Students will learn the applications of IKS in day to day life. Diploma Syllabus

Paper 1 – Ancient Indian Education System

The Ancient Indian Education System, rooted in the profound philosophies of the Vedas and Upanishads, represents a harmonious blend of spiritual wisdom and practical knowledge. Designed around the Gurukul framework, where students lived with and learned from their Gurus, this system emphasized holistic development, integrating ethical, intellectual, physical, and spiritual growth. It fostered a quest for truth and self-realization, underpinning the belief that education is not just for livelihood, but for life itself. Through its inclusive approach and emphasis on universal values, the ancient system continues to inspire modern educational philosophies and practices.

Paper 2 – Literature and Philosophy

The subject of Literature and Philosophy delves into the rich tapestry of Vedic literature, exploring foundational texts of Vedas, and the profound philosophical insights of the Upanishads and Bhagavad Gita. It navigates through the diverse schools of Indian philosophy, including the six classical Darshanas and the teachings of Jainism, Buddhism, and Charvaka, providing a comprehensive understanding of India's intellectual heritage. Additionally, the course covers classical literary works, shedding light on their historical context, genres, and the masterpieces of literary figures such as Bhasa and Bhartruhari, offering a holistic view of India's literary and philosophical landscape.


Paper 3 – History, Epics and Puranas

The course on History, Epics, and Puranas invites students into the rich tapestry of Ancient Indian History, exploring the cyclical concept of Yugas and the chronology of ancient times through the lens of legendary kings and sages. It delves deep into the heart of India's grand epics, the Ramayana and Mahabharata, unraveling their philosophical essence and life teachings. Additionally, the exploration extends to the Puranas, offering a comprehensive understanding of their narratives, philosophical depth, and cultural significance, thus weaving together the historical and mythological threads that form the vibrant mosaic of Indian heritage.


Paper 4 – Introduction to Indian Knowledge System

Learner should have basic idea and understanding of the concept of Indian knowledge system. IKS has multiple dimentions and inter connectivity. The applications at IKS are in day to day life. IKS has been evolved and developed through the voyage of centuries. Ancient Rishies, Munis and scholars have carried this vast base of knowledge systematically though oral traditions and people tradition. Learners should have overview of IKS.

Paper 5 – Applied Knowledge – 1

"Applied Knowledge – 1" offers an in-depth exploration into the scientific advancements and knowledge systems of ancient India, tracing their origins back to the Vedas and the erudite Vedic Rishis. This course uncovers the contributions of ancient Indian civilization to various fields of pure science, including physics, chemistry, and mathematics, along with astronomy, geology, and agriculture. It also delves into the architectural genius of ancient Indian structures, their underlying principles, and the symbolic significance of iconography. Further, the course provides a comprehensive overview of the ancient health systems, particularly Ayurveda, highlighting its foundational texts and enduring practices.


Paper 6 – Applied Knowledge – 2

The "Applied Knowledge – 2" course delves into the practical aspects of Ancient Indian wisdom, exploring the realms of Arts, Culture, Social Systems, and the intricacies of Administration and Economics. From the rhythmic beats of traditional music and dance to the foundational principles that shaped Indian society and governance, this subject offers a comprehensive view. It navigates through the societal roles and contributions of women, the duties of kings, and the sophisticated political and economic strategies outlined by ancient texts and scholars like Kautilya, providing a vivid picture of life in ancient India.


Paper 7 – Teaching Skills, Methods and Techniques

This subject delves into the quintessential traits and foundational requirements of a teacher, emphasizing the importance of passion, learning aptitude, and core teaching values such as humility, forgiveness, and discipline. It further explores advanced communication skills, including language proficiency, expression, and the innovative mindset crucial for engaging students effectively. The curriculum offers a deep dive into various teaching skills and methods, focusing on understanding student psychology, oral and written communication, storytelling, and simplifying knowledge delivery.


Paper 8 – Study of Dharma

Dharma is a very broad concept but it has been presented and percolated in a very complex and confused manner in a society at a large. Unfortunately Dharma is considered as equivalent to religion. It is very necessary and important to understand the baisc idea of dharma. Every student and learner need to be familiar of the foundations, functions and features of Dharma. Dharma is the way of living life, Dharma principles are guidelines for individual and society and balancing between individual, society and universe. Applications of Dharma are the basic rules of management of the relations between human and universe. Study of the Dharma will enlighten students that the real meaning of dharma and how it is different from religion.

Project 

Based on the subjects covered in the program, students will be given elective topics for project. Project can be based on below point with reference to the different concepts taught in the program –
•    Validation of concept
•    Application of concept
•    Creating physical dummy models
•    Finding references and proofs for the concept, etc.
   Students have to write the thesis and present it front of external faculty panel.

ASSESSMENT & EVALUATION 

  • 100 marks for the subject 

  • Written Exam – 60 Marks, Assignment – 20 Marks,  Oral – 20 Marks 

  • Project – 1 Project - Thesis & Presentation (Year End)

  • Passing – Min. 40% marks in each subject 

  • (Note: The written Exam will be offline at various CSU centers around the India)
