Course Overview: Sanskara is the unique contribution of Indian civilization which has developed the process of Sanskara through the voyage of thousands of years and through scientific observation and measurements. Sanskara is the product of the process of rectification, modification and refinement of an individual. The process of doing better, process of making better and process of achieving  better is called as process of Sanskara. The life of an individual human being is required to be fine and glorious and full of happiness while expecting the same for every creature of the universe. India has developed various types of Sanskara for human being from its inception in the womb of the mother till the death. Individual and Social Sanskara are very important for the wellbeing of the society and balancing the public psyche. Behavioral Sanskara develops social manners and etiquettes. Sanskara is the foundation of culture and civilization. Unfortunately the modern developed world is lacking in proper training and education of Sanskara which has created huge challenges at social, administrative, political and economic levels. The student will acquire the fundamental knowledge of Sanskara and will be equipped with various methods and techniques of its applications. He will be able to contribute for the society at large as Sanskara Teacher i.e. Sanskara Shikshak.

Paper 1 - Idea and concept of Sanskara

Sanskara is the unique contribution of Bhartiya civilization to the world. It is the product of process of rectification, modification and refinement of an individual. The process of doing better, process of making better and process of achieving better is called as process of Sanskara. 

The life of an individual human being is required to be fine and glorious and full of happiness while expecting the same for every creature of the universe. Bhartiya civilization has developed the Sanskaraa process through the voyage of thousands of years and through scientific observation and measurements. We have developed various types of Sanskaraa for human being from its inception in the womb of the mother till the death of person and afterward also. It is very important for the society and every individual to be familiar with various Sanskara and understand the applications of the Sanskaraa in real life.

Paper – Applications of Sanskara

Sanskara is the process of rectification and refinement of an individual and society as a whole. It balances the good and evil and helps to maintain positive relationships among the various stakeholders of the society. Every individual should be good in his life. Sanskara helps him to attain his goodness in the smoother way. It helps to develop moral values character and integrity. Applications of Sanskara are everywhere and universal

 

Paper 3 – Individual & Social Sanskara

This subject offers a profound exploration of the intricate web of rites, rituals, and educational practices that constitute Sanskaras, tailored to nurture the individual and society through various stages of life. Starting from the foundational Bal Sanskara in childhood to Yuva Sanskara for youth and Gruhastha Sanskara for householders, this course delves into the age-specific practices that foster holistic development. It extends to personal Sanskaras, emphasizing daily routines, health, hygiene, and behavioral conduct that shape an individual's character. The curriculum further explores individual Sanskaras, focusing on life values, family ethics, and moral principles.

 

Paper 4 - Introduction to Indian Knowledge System

Learner should have basic idea and understanding of the concept of Indian knowledge system. IKS has multiple dimentions and inter connectivity. The applications at IKS are in day to day life. IKS has been evolved and developed through the voyage of centuries. Ancient Rishies, Munis and scholars have carried this vast base of knowledge systematically though oral traditions and people tradition. Learners should have overview of IKS.

Paper 5 – Shodasha Sanskara

Sanskaras serve as foundational pillars for personal development and social integration within the framework of Indian cultural and spiritual heritage. Beginning with an introduction to the concept, scope, and types of Shodasha Sanskara, the course unfolds the profound meanings and practices associated with each Sanskara, encompassing rituals before birth, during birth, and up to the naming ceremony. It further delves into educational and initiatory Sanskaras like Vidyarambha and Upanayan, leading to the sacraments of marriage and household life, and concluding with rites performed at life's end.

 

Paper 6 –  Sanskara - Sanskriti - Traditions

The course on "Sanskara - Sanskriti - Traditions" delves into the profound interrelations between Sanskara (rites of passage), Sanskriti (culture), and traditions, providing a comprehensive understanding of how these elements interweave to form the tapestry of Indian civilization. Beginning with an exploration of Sanskriti, its concepts, features, and scope, the course offers insights into the foundational aspects that define and distinguish Indian culture. It contrasts this with Western notions of culture, examining the scope, limitations, and differences between the two paradigms.

 

Paper 7 – Teaching Skills, Methods and Techniques 

This subject delves into the quintessential traits and foundational requirements of a teacher, emphasizing the importance of passion, learning aptitude, and core teaching values such as humility, forgiveness, and discipline. It further explores advanced communication skills, including language proficiency, expression, and the innovative mindset crucial for engaging students effectively. The curriculum offers a deep dive into various teaching skills and methods, focusing on understanding student psychology, oral and written communication, storytelling, and simplifying knowledge delivery.

 

Paper 8 - Study of Dharma

Dharma is a very broad concept but it has been presented and percolated in a very complex and confused manner in a society at large. Unfortunately, Dharma is considered as equivalent to religion. It is very necessary and important to understand the baisc idea of dharma. Every student and learner need to be familiar of the foundations, functions and features of Dharma. Dharma is the way of living life, Dharma principles are guidelines for individual and society and balancing between individual, society and universe. Applications of Dharma are the basic rules of management of the relations between human and universe. Study of the Dharma will enlighten students that the real meaning of dharma and how it is different from religion.

ASSESSMENT & EVALUATION 

  • 100 marks for the subject 

  • Written Exam – 60 Marks, Assignment – 20 Marks,  Oral – 20 Marks 

  • Project – 1 Project - Thesis & Presentation (Year End)

  • Passing – Min. 40% marks in each subject 

  • (Note: The written Exam will be offline at various CSU centers around the India)
