Course Overview: Hindu Dharma is the most ancient dharma in this world. It has sacred foundations and tenets which are the basis of its existence since ancient times. Hindu Dharma is the way life and is much different than the concept of religion. Hindu dharma considers the wellbeing of an individual, society and universe as a whole. The principles of the Hindu dharma work towards the balancing of all resources. It has in built divinity and it narrates the atman which is also known as brahman as the integral part of everyone. It means Oneness in Everyone. Hindu Dharma has holistic approach towards life and thinks beyond the materialistic world. Unfortunately in India, there is lack of proper education system about Hindu Dharma for masses. Students will get overall understanding of Hindu Dharma & will be able to apply knowledge for the society and world. The whole world is eager to understand Hindu Dharma, Hindu Traditions, Hindu Rituals, Hindu Life Style, Principles and Practices of Hindu Dharma. There is global demand for Hindu Dharma Experts, Hindu Life Coach, Hindu Marriage Coach, Hindu Culture Coach etc.

Diploma Syllabus

Paper 1 – Introduction to Hindu Dharma

This subject is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of Hindu Dharma, exploring its etymology, core concepts, and profound impact on individual and societal ethics, duties, and the overarching vision of life. Starting with the exploration of the term 'Hindu'—its historical roots and synonymous terms like Sanatan, Vaidik, Bhartiya, and Aryan—the course sets the foundation for a deep dive into the rich tapestry of Hindu philosophy and practices. It progresses to unravel the multifaceted concept of Dharma, examining its definitions, role as a cosmic and social order, and its evolutionary journey through time.

 

Paper 2 -  Foundations of Hindu Dharma

The curriculum delves into the importance of rationalism and logic within Hindu Dharma, emphasizing the value of inquiry, curiosity, and the pursuit of real knowledge through practices such as Ashtanga Yoga and the cultivation of inner wisdom. The course further explores the transformative concept of Karma Therapy, detailing the principles of karma, the notions of heaven and hell, and the significance of selfless action and self-discipline in achieving spiritual growth.

 

Paper 3 - Literature Base of Hindu Dharma

The subject is meticulously crafted to navigate the extensive and profound literary foundations that have shaped Hindu philosophy, ethics, and cultural practices over millennia. The subject lays the groundwork for understanding the origins and essence of Hindu thought. It progresses to the Upanishads, Smruti Granths, Puranas, Manusmriti. further examines the epics and philosophies presented in the Ramayana and Mahabharata. the Maha Kavyas and Lok Sahitya are explored emphasizing their contribution to the cultural and spiritual heritage of Hindu Dharma.

 

Paper 4 - Introduction to Indian Knowledge System

Learner should have basic idea and understanding of the concept of Indian knowledge system. IKS has multiple dimentions and inter connectivity. The applications at IKS are in day to day life. IKS has been evolved and developed through the voyage of centuries. Ancient Rishies, Munis and scholars have carried this vast base of knowledge systematically though oral traditions and people tradition. Learners should have overview of IKS.

Paper 5 - Principles and Practice of Hindu Dharma

Subject begins with a deep dive into the core objectives of human life, known as the Four Purusharthas—Dharma, Artha, Kama, and Moksha—and the stages of life, or Ashramas, guiding principles for life management and goal setting. The course further elucidates the unique aspects that render Hindu Dharma a living civilization, emphasizing harmony, equitable wealth distribution, and holistic human development. It ventures into the significance of temples, rituals, and Vedic practices, pivotal for personal and communal spirituality. The curriculum also covers the development of culture, traditions, and the pivotal role of Sanskaras in shaping societal values.

 

Paper 6 - Differentiation between Dharma and Religion

The subject delves into the nuanced distinctions and intersections between the broader concepts of Dharma, particularly within the Hindu context, and the structured frameworks of religions and sects globally. Initiating with foundational definitions and characteristics of religion and sect, the course explores the diversity within Indian religious traditions and contrasts these with the historical and doctrinal underpinnings of Semitic and Abrahamic faiths such as Christianity and Islam.

 

Paper 7 - Teaching Skills, Methods and Techniques

This subject delves into the quintessential traits and foundational requirements of a teacher, emphasizing the importance of passion, learning aptitude, and core teaching values such as humility, forgiveness, and discipline. It further explores advanced communication skills, including language proficiency, expression, and the innovative mindset crucial for engaging students effectively. The curriculum offers a deep dive into various teaching skills and methods, focusing on understanding student psychology, oral and written communication, storytelling, and simplifying knowledge delivery.

 

Paper 8 - Study of Dharma

Dharma is a very broad concept but it has been presented and percolated in a very complex and confused manner in a society at a large. Unfortunately Dharma is considered as equivalent to religion. It is very necessary and important to understand the baisc idea of dharma. Every student and learner need to be familiar of the foundations, functions and features of Dharma. Dharma is the way of living life, Dharma principles are guidelines for individual and society and balancing between individual, society and universe. Applications of Dharma are the basic rules of management of the relations between human and universe. Study of the Dharma will enlighten students that the real meaning of dharma and how it is different from religion.

ASSESSMENT & EVALUATION 

  • 100 marks for the subject 

  • Written Exam – 60 Marks, Assignment – 20 Marks,  Oral – 20 Marks 

  • Project – 1 Project - Thesis & Presentation (Year End)

  • Passing – Min. 40% marks in each subject 

  • (Note: The written Exam will be offline at various CSU centers around the India)
